Referees for Initiation - Paid Opportunity

The CRMHA Board is pleased to announce that it has created a new entry level refereeing position within our Association. The intent of the entry level referee position is to give those interested in refereeing hockey games the chance to give it a try in an informal setting by officiating Initiation level games. Further details are as follows:

1. The opportunity is available for all 12+ year old youths (generally Peewee age) currently registered with CRMHA.

2. One referee will be retained to officiate Initiation level games only. On ice duties will include regular puck drops for goals, saves, puck stoppages, and injuries and limited verbal encouragement to players on both teams to improve game flow and basic game sense.

3. The beginner referee will be paid $20 for each game officiated.

4. Potential game opportunities will be coordinated through Initiation managers and the Head Referee (Vic Majeau).

5. This is a low pressure setting for youngsters to gain valuable on ice refereeing experience and also looks great on future resumes.

6. At this time we are asking for those interested to please email Garett Cochrane at garett@aegiswest.ca to add your name to a preliminary list to determine the level of interest for this opportunity.

Thank you
CRMHA Board
